Tateyama City Municipal Museum is a museum that collects and exhibits historical materials that relate to the area, known as the Awa region.
The museum is located in Shiroyama Park, which houses the remains of the castle where the Satomi clan — a feudal lord that ruled over the Boso area during the Warring States period (1467-1568) — lived.
The Tateyama Castle itself is also being used as a museum, called Hakkenden Museum.
